Microneedling

No matter which method of “MicroNeedling” is used, the concept is the same – microscopic needles are moved over the skin at a chosen depth creating tiny punctures in the skin to stimulate the skins own healing response.

So whether you have had derma rollering on your full face or the Raffine pen using a cartridge of clustered needles, then the skin’s response to it is the same.

As the needles penetrate the skin they produce tiny microscopic traumas.

This treatment stimulates the skin to regenerate and repair itself safely and naturally, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, creating smoother, brighter, healthier, younger-looking skin.

Your skin is absorbing topical serums/creams thousands of times more than it normally does so please follow the aftercare advice carefully.

How much does Microneedling cost?

After Your Microneedling Treatment

It is imperative that you follow advice to ensure the health of your skin and increase the success of your treatment that these guidelines be followed:

You have received a Clinicare Mask in your aftercare. By the time you get home your skin will probably be feeling very warm, similar to mild sunburn. Open the mask and as you are removing it, try and gently squeeze out some of the serum…. As it is a very “wet” mask. Apply the mask for at least 20 minutes. This will cool your skin down and, also your skin will be absorbing the skin loving ingredients that are infused in it.

When you have had it on long enough then pop the mask back in the packet and you can put it in the fridge. The mask can be re used a couple of times.

The morning after your treatment you can wash your face with the gentle cleanser. After this you can continue with your normal skincare regime. Either apply the mask again or take some of the serum from the mask pouch and apply this to your skin the next day too. This will hydrate and take away the tight feeling.

Your skin feeling tight is normal, your skin is going through the inflammation stage and this is the reaction that was intended. You can keep re-applying the serum from the mask or any other product that I have given you to help with this tight feeling for this day.

For the next 24 hours do not apply spf…. because of this I highly recommend you stay out of the sun completely. Most people choose to stay in doors for the full day following their treatment.

For the next 2-3 days do not use any Retinol, AHA’s or BHA’s on your skin.

It is imperative that you use a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 from the initial 24 hours and avoid direct sunlight i.e sunbathing for at least 1 month. Patients with hypersensitivity to the sun should take extra precautions to guard against exposure.

Your skin may stay red the rest of the day. It may stay slightly red for a few days after.

Please avoid strenuous exercise until all redness and inflammation has dissipated, it is advised that you avoid for at least 48 hrs.

You may have some peeling or flaky skin for a few days ….. DO NOT PICK OR PULL THE SKIN!

Do not have any other facial treatment for at least one week after your microneedling treatment.

For approximately 48 to 72 hours after your treatment your skin is producing an increased amount of collagen and elastin…. This won’t be visible until at least a month though.

Finally, a course of microneedling is recommended. At least 3 treatments with 4 weeks apart.
